The Best Room in the House

SYNOPSIS ... BROADCAST ... BIBLIOGRAPHY

Synopsis

Vi moves into the house of her husband's grandfather, and the crotchety old fellow detests the change her presence introduces into his life. Meanwhile, Aunt Mattie, who also resides here, acts as though Vi doesn't exist, referring to her in the third person. Vi and her husband, Chris, have cramped, separate quarters, and she is eager to move into the larger, unoccupied room on the main floor. But this is where Chris's mother once stayed before disappearing. The grandfather visits this room frequently, sometimes sobbing in the middle of the night in his wheelchair. Vi decides to befriend the grandfather in his grief, and also convince him that in order to keep things the way they are, she should move into the best room in the house, and keep it just as his daughter once did.

Broadcast
